I was amazed to see the very old mosaic art and to climb the bell tower. They both were very neat. As a student of Art History in my field the recreation and preservation of ancient arts is fantastic. What was a big let down is after traveling to the place and paying the ticket for admission.. not finding out... More

The most impressive historical cathedral, which placed in the Kyiv's center. Saint Sophia Cathedral is one of the oldest and important church in Ukraine.

I purchased a pass to access all the main areas and had a wonderful time. This is absolutely beautiful place and there are many great photo opportunities on the grounds, though photos are not allowed inside the cathedral.

Beautiful architecture, tower, and park outside. Ancient (XI century) mosaics and frescos on the inside. The free guided tour is excellent, but it may not be available in English.

This beautiful sacred place is Kiev's oldest standing church. Many of the mosaics and frescoes are original, dating back to 1017–31, when the cathedral was built. It's beautiful green and golden domes shine under the sun. There is also a lovely peaceful garden on the grounds.

Well it's a nice place with a ton of history dating back to the 15th century. The exposed walls and floors showing you what it looked like in the past was an eye opener. Not allowed to take pics:-(
