This statue doesn't really fit the theme of the park that its in. But it's still interesting to see if you're in the area.

Beautiful fountain, especially attractive if it works. It was restored many times. It looks a little unkempt, but that doesn't stop him from being a favorite place for meetings

It`s boring and abandoned statue in the center of Kontraktova Square. Better not waste your time on it.

This is OK to check out once. There is a nice small park located here. So you don't have to go out of your way to check it out.

In a city filled with beautiful and vital monuments, this one is quite sad. There did not appear to be a restoration and we happened upon it. Glad we didn't go on a search for it specifically.

It's an interesting statue to view after leaving the metro on the way to Saint Andrews church I think by summer 2014 the major refurbishment work being carried out near by will be complete Then the square will be greatly uplifted

It's not interesting in the least bit. Don't waste your time looking for it at all. Just go do something else.

The most disappointing thing I have ever seen. What can you imagine reading the name of the statue? Probably column of water with beautiful statue (like in Sainkt Peterburg). But no, you will see 1 m high semicolor (ahhh) statue with water streaming like in drinking fountain(((((((

The fountain was built in the 16th century by the architect Grigorovich-Barsky in the Ukrainian Baroque style. It is the center of the first in Eastern Europe running water (1749g) Legend of story :" If a tourist drink a water ,from the Lion mouth, that to becoming from Kiev"

This fountain is at the corner of a small park next to the tram terminus in Podil. It's a relatively modern painted sculpture depicting the biblical scene of Samson fighting the lion. The paintwork could do with some attention and the water trickles out almost apologetically. Walking past, it's easy to miss this altogether.
