It's a nice monument if you've read the book or at least heard the story of this character. This is a famous pickpocketer - and if you want to get rich quick you need to leave some money there )

More details in Wiki: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Little_Golden_Calf#Main_characters Anyway it is still a fun to check what is hidden under his shoe

Sure, it's very kind gentleman from the classic Soviet humorists Ilf and Petrov. Mr.Panikovsky imitated blindness and asked people to help him cross Prorizna street. Actually, he was just a ...pickpocket. Today he prepared a small surprise for you. But to find it you'll need a small mirror (ladies first!): it enables you to look at the Mr.Panikovsky foot and... A nice statue which we only stooped by a few minutes on our way to a restaurant. It is interesting but I would not come here specifically to see it.

Panikovskiy is one of a colorful person ever shown in the Soviet literature. He is the hero of the street where this monument is erased. He also memorises the whole story written by Ilf and Petrov. This is also kind of respect to a Kiev born actor Zinoviy Ghert who played Panikovskiy in the movie. I always feel positiv when... More

Seeing Panikovskiy is a must if you are a fan of the movie or the actor himself! If you are an international tourist it may really mean nothing to you.

This small sculpture is primarily interesting for the fans of the books about Ostap Bender. Otherwise it's just an old metalic blind man, standing in a small yard, with whom you can take couple of photos.
