If you are traveling to Belgrade, you will be visiting the fortress. Magnificent view of the rivers. Nice old fortress. Interesting to see that the fortress and surrounding areas have now become an outing site for local families with tennis courts in the old moat...More

This is the spot where Belgrade, the 'White City', was founded. Some fortifications predate Turkish conquests, some were built by Turks, some were built by Austrians and Hungarians during the times they managed to push the Turks south and take the city. Is it a...More

Free entrance and a fortress full of history and well preserved sights. The weather was perfect and the walk along the fortress, although a bit long, was very enjoyable! Put your comfortable shoes on and don’t be afraid to explore all corners of the fortress;...More

Large fort instrumental in stopping the Ottoman Empire at the gates of Europe. Hard to envision 10,000 men defending the fort. Pretty vista of the river, some good signs in English describing the history.

Unfortunately we did not have time to make an extensive visit, but what we saw on our sunset walk was lovely. We especially enjoyed walking in the park and looking over the river. However, we had an opportunity to see more of it from a...More

The structure itself is very impressive, nice to walk around on a sunny day taking it all in. We took the Underground Secrets of Belgrade, with Belgrade Walking Tour, (meeting at Republic Square at 3pm, tour lasts approx 2hrs), to get a taste of what...More
