A stroll through this neighborhood full of cafes and restaurants is pleasant and gives an impression about the history of the city.

This is the main square of old Belgrade. There is a lovely old building the National Museum closed for refurbishment for over 10 years, I believe. Apart from that there is a busy road, a water feature and opposite the older building some rather unattractive architecture. The night buses leave from here so a good place to head after a... More

The location is very central, but more importantly, there is so much energy flowing thru the area that it absolutely can blow your mind away. Great restaurants and sightseeing places are close by. I stayed at the Courtyard Marriott by the square and the staff was excellent. For those who are interested in the glamour of shopping, you will be... More

Try Republike or 'kod konja' is the most popular meeting place in Belgrade. It's central location connects the main square to the main pedestrian street, Knez Mihailova, the National Theatre and the National Museum. I usually meet friends and family there when in the city centre. I stopped at the Monument Caffe overlooking the square for a coffee break. The... More

Trg Republike (or better known "kod konja" with locals, that translates to "by the horse") is one of the most popular places in Belgrade. Surrounded by many important and interesting buildings (National Theater, National Museum, Theater Bosko Buha, etc) it is also a well known meeting point for tourists and locals alike. The plaza is dominated by the monument of... More

Near to Knez Mihailova and the city transit system, this is a good place to find and meet up with your friends in Belgrade before you head out for a bite to eat or a drink in one of the nearby street-side eating places.
