This museum hosts 3 art galleries: the European Art Gallery, the Romanian Medieval Art Gallery and the Romanian Modern Art Gallery which bring together impressive art works. You can find more details on the museum website. The entry fee for all galleries together is only 15 RON (approx. 3 euro), a very cheap price compared with what museum offers and... More

Been here with the family , museum is divided in two sections one with the old europeans masters and one with romanian classics . Spectacular visit for a rainy day especially for art and history lovers. Good location , in the center of the city .

It was without many people. A guard for each room. My children were impressed. Huge collection. There is the romanian side and european side. Worth to add a few lei's and see it all. Have fun

If your in Bucharest for a few days and interested in art, you can find here a lot of paintings and sculptures of Romanian artists. You have to take a few good hours to make a complete calm tour.

Superb collection which is, sadly, not very frequently visited by either Romanians or tourists. The European art collection was re-hung, and is beautifully-presented; the Romanian art collection (on the opposite wing of the Palace) is rather tired, but very well-done. Labels are clearly visible and informative, including the provenance of most of the European paintings, which mostly come from the... More

Early icons to 20th-century impressionistic paintings. We were amazed at the amount of local Romanian artists about whom we had never heard. Classic French impressionistic influences. Shame they are not seen in Western Europe. Huge building former royal place very well maintained. Cheat to enter at less than £2 each.

Although the city guide leaflet indicates 10.00 as opening time, at the gates we were told 11.00. The Museum is housed in a palace of the former kings so it has beautiful architecture inside and out.We headed straight for the international collection which is not bad but also nothing to go wild about There are some interesting Breughels( after The... Not too much people know what a great collection this museum has. Not only Roumanian art from 18-21 centuries, but a lot of European great paintings. Go and spend a lot of time.

The National Museum of Art has a beautiful collection of artwork, ranging from paintings to sculptures to icons. And, even the students at the local art school have their works featured in the museum, which is a great way to encourage and cultivate artistic talent in Bucharest.

I would have never thought Romainia had a museum of this size and quality! It is housed in a beautiful building that is a former palace. If is right downtown city center do easy for everyone to get to as well.
