Hidden gem in the heart of Zagreb
Oct 2019
Excellent views! Free! Friendly folks! Check their hours and go on a clear night. So glad I got a chance to check this out before leaving Zagreb, it was a really cool experience!

Nice view
Aug 2019
Located near the centre it offers great view once you manage to find it (it has no street sign so you have to guess which backyard to enter once you reach the adress which is kinda like sad). Always check the opening hours, they were even closed because of the vacation in middle of the summer. If the sky is clear you can look through the telescope. Unfortunately there is light polution so even with the great technology you cant see everything you want to. People who work there were friendly. Definitly worth visiting , especially if you are helpless romantic and for children to learn something new. No entrance fee!

Astronomical observatory
Aug 2018 • Solo
Not far from the main city square is this observatory. One of my friends , who wanted to see the observatory called me.
The observatory is housed in a medieval tower. When we reached we found it closed being Saturday.
The problem with some of the museums in Zagreb is the opening time and the day of opening. There's no fixed time on all days.
The observatory is closed on Mon, Sat, Sun. It is generally open from 20.00 hrs to 22.00 hrs on the remaining days. If the sky is clear, then you can see through the telescope.
The entrance is free.

Visited on our Honeymoon
Jul 2017
The observatory view was breathtaking and we visited twice in a day. evening and post sunset during summer.
There are various games to play and the swings to rest on and mocktails and cocktails and relaxing chairs to sit and enjoy the view.

Superb
May 2016 • Friends
Fantastic, very reasonable at only a few pounds whilst offering amazing views over the city and surrounding area. Nice bar at the top as well in order to relax and have a coffee or beer, prices at the bar were also reasonable for such a captive audience. A great way to see the city from another angle.

For those who love their stars!!
Dec 2015 • Friends
This place is pretty cool and I didnt expect to find it in ZG. Located on the top of an old building in the old town, this place is free of charge and open every night from 2000-2200 and also during the day (check the website). Although it was very cold outside on the roof, this was an interesting experience. If you like this kind of thing then head here, if you are not the star gazing type of person then this can be skipped.
