one of the greatest stonemasons ever born, Ivan Meštrović one of the greats of Croatian art and world stonemasonry, except in Croatia, his works are spread all over the world.

This is a very nice museum. Our guide was very informative. I didn't know too much about the artist before I went.

An iconic tour of the great Mestrovic. I don’t understand why people wouldn’t visit this exhibition.

Creativity of a Maestro.
Oct 2019 • Solo
I visited this excellent Museum housing great collection of sculptures, drawings, lithographs, artistic furniture of Mestrovic, most celebrated sculptor, architect, Maestro, creative genius of Croatia. The Museum is located in 17th century building and the house of Mestrovic , who designed and lived here from 1922 to 1942. There is admission ticket and one of the best Museum at Zagreb not to be missed.

A Must-See in Zagreb
Oct 2019
This wonderful house, with its attached artist-designed garden and work-space, will be enjoyable to anyone interested in what's inside all of these wonderful old-city homes. To find such amazing sculpture and furnishings puts this museum into the "Must-See" category. Tastefully presented, you can simply enjoy the house, and the furnishings, and the sculpture -- or you can learn a lot about this amazing 20th century sculptor -- or both.

Amazing Moving Work by Ivan Mestrovic who is a Gift to Humanity
Sep 2019
I have to admit that I knew nothing about Ivan Mestrovic or his amazing and moving work until I stumbled into Atelier Mestrovic Zagreb almost by accident. This was after a day of sightseeing around Zagreb and including queuing up to see the (not so great) museum of Broken Relationships.
Has the world gone mad, why didn't I know about Ivan Mestrovic and his utterly astonishing work. I know about Picasso, Henry Moore, Gacometti, Rembradt, Van Gogh, Turner and many, many others but my artistic education has failed woefully by not bringing this man's work to my attention sooner. Why are people being directed to see pointless things like the museums of Broken Trash and Minor Illusions? All of this is a mystery to me. Perhaps one of you out there knows the answer. Perhaps the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Croatia can throw some light on this conundrum?
It is worth visiting this gallery just to see the Mother and Child in wood which I found most overwhelming. I was in the presence of the cathedral of total and utter artistic talent. I wrack my brains to recall if any other artist as ever had such an effect on me and I cannot recall. JMW Turner came close, but he did not bring tears to my eyes. I don't think I will ever be the same again.
Just go and see this amazing work and in this beautiful building, courtyard and garden if it is the only thing you do whilst visiting Zagreb.

breathtaking

This came as a complete surprise to know that his works were here, right next to my restaurant. I spent a good 90 minutes browsing the works. This is totally worth while. Not just the art, but the house itself is beautiful.

Worth a quick look if you are in the Upper Town of Zagreb

Mestrovic did some pretty cool work and you can see it, along with his home, in an hour. This is a good stop on a walking tour of Zagreb.

Excellent!

The world renowned sculptor, Ivan Mestrovic, and his family lived in these two homes from 1922 to 1942.
It is fascinating to see his studio, art, and living space where he enjoyed life.
The City Museum is just around the bend; so both can be seen fairly quickly.

Astonishing
Nov 2018 • Family
This beautiful gallery reminds me of Musée Rodin in Paris. You can admire stunning sculptures made by one of the most important Croatian artists inside the gallery that was his house and atelier, but also in a small garden. It is quite, tranquil and perfect for art lovers. My favourite place in the city.
