Jelacic Square is the central location in Zagreb, a place to meet, and a place to see and be seen. It's within easy walking distance to the Cathedral of the Assumption, to the Market, and to the main shopping district. On the day of my visit, there was a display of emergency and fire vehicles along with demonstrations of various... More

Each city has the central square to meet and greet. This is lovely point with nearby great restaurants, shops and one bookshop that must stop. Enjoy the stay and take a walk through central points of Zagreb.

This is the main square of the city, located in the heart of the pedestrian area. One of the most popular meeting points of Zagreb, this square has a statue of Ban Josip Jelačic, the work of the Austrian sculptor Anton Fernkorn. The buildings around display a variety of architectural styles from Classicism to Post Modernism. Inaccessible by car, the square... More

I have been for advent time 2016 in 5 cities and towns around Europe and finished in Zagreb, just to confirm once again "sugar at the end". If you really wanna feel and see what means advent then you should come to Zagreb. You will have a great time, excellent food and a lot of small shops and caffeterias.

I see every day some tourist's taking pictures by the statue of ban Jelačić!! Here is some interesting things about Josip Jelačić! Count Josip Jelačić von Bužim (16 October 1801 – 20 May 1859;[1] also spelled Jellachich,[1] Jellačić[1] or Jellasics; in Croatian: Josip grof Jelačić Bužimski) was the Ban of Croatia between 23 March 1848 and 19 May 1859. He was a member of the House of Jelačić and a noted army general,... More

This square is the other open market operating daily. Not everything is on the front level, you climb a few steps and another large area of vendors opens up, and back down the streets and side streets. what a lot to see. But this square is a great base point for shoppers. By the horseman.

Jelacic Square is the heart of Zagreb. We loved walking around the square and the whole area. When you visit Zagreb this is a must-see place. My family and I visited when the Christmas fair was on which gave a magical Christmas feel to the square and the whole city. Realy had a great time.

Zagreb has a few square with Jelacic Square has the most crowd. There is a concert during that day and lot of people. Must take the picture of iconic horse at the Jelacic Square.
