Dated and of limited interest

Visited this museum which is a mix of all things technological. Nothing in depth but a surface scratching from space to transportation, for fire brigades to farming. It’s all here - presentation looks a tad boring and it’s almost all in Croatian.

Some interesting exhibits - aircraft, trams, ship models. Home comfort - record players, vinyl records, tapes etc etc. Oil and energy is well represented as is wind turbine energy.

Biographic details of Tesla - truly a contributor and entrepreneur of science.

The building is old and of a ‘Socialist’ design - a great man but the museum may well not hold the interest of foreigners or children.

Excellent tribute to Tesla

This is an excellent museum that chronicles Croatia’s role in the industrial revolution, particularly with regard to Nikola Tesla’s contributions. I highly recommend visiting, especially if you have children interested in science and technology.

Technically Boring
Jul 2021
The Technical Museum with a Tesla brand certainly has a lot of things to look at, but I can't say many of those things are interesting. You will find a variety of displays with varying English descriptions - from fire fighting to mining. There is a relatively small Tesla section, so don't expect too much out of that aspect of things. They do offer a mine tour in the museum, but it is not in English and you basically just walk hunched over for 15 minutes through a mock mine. I would skip this one unless you are a science and engineering superfreak. Otherwise, you will be quite bored.

The museum is very interesting and is about nuclear engineering, mechanical engineering, space, technology, nikola Tesla and everything regarding him, also very cheap, but it has just a problems, the descriptions , 3/4 of them, are not in English but in Croatian, also the tour provided by the museum is only in Croatian, but still a worth place where to go

This museum can be good or bad depending on your interests.
Exhibits including planes, cars and boats and a section on firefighting in and around Zagreb.
The science of electricity and nuclear energy was interesting. I found the section on turbines and engines and also the mining exhibit didnt interest me.
The museum seemed old and it was very cold inside.
A free tram ride on a sunday morning at 09.30 was nice and they use an old vintage 1930's tram. The trip around the lower town lasts half an hour. The guide is useless and she just sat there not saying a word.
Get the free tkt from the museum ticket office from 09.00 - 09.25. The free tram tlr does not give entrance to the main museum though.

Museum and planetarium
Feb 2020 • Friends
Museum and tour of mine were great..the planetarium needs alot of improvements...they need to go to the NYC one and get information to bring back ..with visitors of non croatian language like myslef the planetarium was not enjoyable....i did not understand what man was saying..also a light show is not the way to go about showing the planets. At one point the guy said if it's blurry sorry the lens is not good. Like really 15 kn is too much for this show i could have done it myself in my living room and charged less

Great museum
Nov 2019
You can find a lot of good preserved items from the past (old planes, typewriters, phones, etc.).
Affordable ticket prices. Very interesting for the kids, too: there is a mine display, a planetarium and the office of Nikola Tesla. Be sure to visit and bring your children if you can, rather than having them sit in front of the TV.

Good selection, informative

Full of stuff to see, really enjoyable if you are into mechanical things. It would really benefit from some models that you could play around with. We took the mineshaft tour, the guide was informative and enjoyable.

Nice museum

Nice museum with many exhibits, very educational and sightful. We saw many forgotten things. The intro Nikola Tesla experiment part was amazing and the person did good job, had a good laugh.
