This is another spectacular church in the heart of the city. Well worth a visit to see the beauty for yourself. You will not be disappointed. Beauty on the outside and more impressive on the inside.

Centrally situated and accessible this is a must see. We visited while a service was in progress which was a very moving experience.

Unfortunately we didn't have time to visit the underground museum which sounds amazing, but we'll do that on our next trip to Sofia.

This is one of the few old churches in Sofia that survived the Ottoman Empire. Older temples can be seen beneath the crypt.

This temple is build at the ages of the Byzantine Empire in the 4-th century. It is cradle of orthodox Christianity at there places. If you want to visit historian places you have to see this Church!

A fine example of Romanesque architecture. Good to compare it with the nearby and much later Nevsky cathedral. The interior is largely unadorned brick.
