Definitely visit it, even for just one walk! Vitosha, the ancient Scomius or Scombrus is a volcanic mountain massif, on the outskirts of Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. Vitosha is one of the symbols of Sofia and the closest site for hiking, alpinism and skiing.

The mountain is easy to get to. We got the metro then the bus. Once there you can go further up the mountain for some great views. We took a rucksack with some food and water - which I would definitely recommend in the summer.
