This Neoclassical building was constructed in 1906 and became one of the most interesting landmark in Sofia and entire country.
Located in a park, this theatre is in the middle of a square close to Nevsky Cathedral. I didn't visit inside, but enjoyed the view while chiling in the beautiful park with a nice fountain with a ballerina statue. Go and relax there.

It's between Vitosha Boulevard and Alexandr Nevsky Cathedral so it's on the way when you are visiting the main landmarks of the city. When you visit here, you would also visit the city park where locals get a rest or have lunch, I loved how...More
With Ivan Vazov being one of the most important writers in Bulgarian literature, it is certainly wise to name this beautiful national theatre after him. The building is nicely preserved with bright colour and rich decorations of great composition.
The building is depicted on the 50 levs banknote. A Vienna style environment looking over City Garden. The only possible visits of the building are during a show in Bulgarian.
Set in a small city centre park, this building is crammed with detail. There's a really chilled atmosphere too with street vendors (but no hussle), chess players etc.
