This church has beautiful frescos inside and interesting architecture. It is well worth a visit. It does not suffer from the nearness of a McDonald's.

It is in Serdika, a small and pretty orthodox cathedral of the tenth century. Recommended for families and children.

When I visited, a funeral was taking place. It is an impressive church, which had to be rebuilt after a terrorist attack in 1925, which killed 120 people. It is a reminder that terrorism in not only a phenomenon of our age.

It's an interesting old church, almost Byzantine structure. Like many churches here, there's a golden altar. It seems that the central figure here is Mary, with various depictions where she is the focus.

We stopped at this church on our Free Sofia Walking Tour. It is easy to find if you are walking along Vitosha Boulevard. Our guide went into great detail about the interesting history of this building.
