The visit to this place gives an insight of the fresh produce people can use in fiji .it also has some imported fruit and veg but mostly local sold by growers direct and some middleman. It also makes a perfect meeting place for local who come to buy or sell. the activities here start as early as 2am everyday but... More

One of the best places to go when you are in Suva Just near the bus station the cruise Ferry ships, Suva vegetables market is a place to visit. Fresh vegetables and fruits of the seasons are sold often in heaps ( groups of food put together on a plate) for very good price. If you want to have a... More

If you want really fresh and even better value, go to markets in smaller towns like Rakiraki, Navua, sigatoka etc. We enjoy going there, but have to shop around. Really don't understand why this is a tourist destination! This is not a farmers market.

These markets are all pretty much the same and sell the same things but you can get some nice souvenirs.

Fruits, vegetables, eggs, colonized the ground floor. The first floor is the paradise of Kava retailers and spices. Take a walk and enjoy.

I like markets, especially real local markets selling things for the local people rather than just for tourists. The main part of the Suva Market is almost all just local fresh produce with local people visiting to look for fresh produce, so it is worthwhile to just go to visit and see what a real market is like. At one... More

My friend and I were enjoying looking around Suva, when a rather "friendly" man approached us. He offered to show us where to buy genuine Fijian gifts. We were happy to go as we could find the stores ourselves. He took us to an Indian run shop with all the Fijian clothes. I thought he would leave, but he stayed.... More

I like Suva but you need to be careful for the randoms coming up to you trying to be your friend and offer advice, theyre not and will want to lead you to random places to buy something or pay them money. One guy even had a city council ID. Dont befriend them and decline to go anywhere
