Peaceful and luxurious retreat
Feb 2020
After the excitement (and physical exertion) of discovering the magical world of the Incas, from Cusco to Machu Picchu, we wanted two days to relax and assimilate all the experiences and impressions of the past 8 days. Tambo del Inka was the perfect spot! Set in spectacular nature (mountains, river and lush indigenous gardens), the hotel has the feel of a spacious lodge, with rich interior decor that celebrates local artisans and culture. The hotel has everything we love about leading Marriott properties everywhere: exceptional service and heavenly beds! Add to this an outstanding Spa with indoor/outdoor pool, an excellent hydrothermal circuit and excellent spa treatments (I recommend the Terepia de Lujo and the facial was very good too). My therapist, Jessica, was excellent. We had ground floor rooms, opening on to a lovely terrace with direct access to the tranquil garden - definitely worth it vs. the other rooms which only have a small balcony. After all that relaxing in the garden and spa, the hotel restaurant completes the indulgent experience. The food - all locally sourced - is divine! Definitely try a Pisco Sour and order Peruvian win - they have some excellent local vintages. All staff are exceptionally helpful and thoughtful, but special mention of Willie and Alexander who really raise the bar on subtly attentive service. We traveled with our 3 children and they were wonderfully welcomed in the hotel. Their highlight was the Andreas Crepe-making class. It was tremendous fun and extremely well organized. The hotel offers a number of other interesting activities, including Pisco Sour mixing and bread-making. Net a truly delightful experience and wonderful way to round off an absolutely amazing trip - PERU SHOULD BE ON EVERY BUCKET LIST!

Enjoyed our stay
Jan 2020
Just as the other reviews say, the hotel's setting is just perfect and pictures don't really do it justice. The town of Urubamba is not much to write home about but there are a couple of good restaurants (Casa Colonial, El Huacatay).
The dinner and breakfast at Hawa was excellent and Irma and Willie (among others) took great care of us.
Jossie at the concierge desk was a highlight of the stay as she was extremely helpful, spoke great English and really focused on our preferences for the trip.
I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking to experience the Sacred Valley.

Relaxing gorgeous hotel in the beautiful Sacred Valley
Dec 2019 • Couples
My husband and I ended our Peru travels with 3 days at this incredible hotel/ resort. Along with the stunning property itself, which is architecturally awe inspiring and a river/ mountain setting that flows with positive energy, the staff made our trip even more memorable.

Breakfast buffet each day is a gourmet extravaganza. So many healthy options from the impeccable tea station, to the detox centre, the seeds and fruit selection was great and the house made granola amazing, just to mention a few of my favourites. Be sure to build in lots of time each morning to slowly savour this experience. Thank you to Eymi for her wonderful service during our breakfasts!

Other highlights for us were the hydrotherapy treatments, which are included in your daily resort fees so be sure to take advantage of them. This series of water treatments is definitely the best we’ve ever experienced at any resort. Allyson is a caring, attentive spa concierge who ensures your hydrotherapy experience is done safely and finishes the treatment nicely and in a very caring, professional manner, thank you Allyson! Don’t miss this, your body will not be able to resist the relaxation!

Finally, the lounge area/ outdoor covered patio is a magical place in the evenings. Service is, once again, impeccable, food and wine delicious from the Sacred Valley region. The atmosphere is unbeatable, quiet and relaxing. Lucie, once again, took wonderful care in serving us. She is such a lovely Peruvian woman and I was so thrilled to see her again after my last visit here 5 years ago when she had only just begun serving at this hotel. Congratulations on your 5 year anniversary Lucie!

Thank you to all of the staff at Tambo del Inka, we hope to return soon!

The best of all
Nov 2019
This luxury resort has gorgeous grounds, awesome architecture, spacious rooms with incredible views, a dramatic spa, which includes a large negative edge heated pool partially indoors and out. But what made it was the Peruvian version of the Ahwahnee Hotel dining room, with an incredible breakfast buffet each morning. Each dish was gourmet quality with careful attention to beauty, and perfection in preparation. Even the choosiest visitor would be delighted. But by far and away, the highlight was the service. The Peruvian staff are beyond friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and happy to go the extra mile.I'm not one to write reviews, and I have a poor memory for names, but special appreciation for the services of Irma, Percy and Gianell. And by the way, booking through Kensington Travel Tours made scheduling and travel throughout Peru about as effortless as possible. We were pampered all the way.

Relaxing water circuit spa experience
Oct 2019
This review is only for the spa since I was staying elsewhere in the valley, but I enjoyed the spa stay very much. Upon arriving to my appointment, I enjoyed how beautiful and stately the hotel was. The check-in process for the spa was fast - they even had bathing suits for sale that very inexpensive for my friend who had forgotten to bring hers. The changing area and bathrooms all felt spacious and luxurious with lockers, bathrobes, and slippers. The water circuit was supremely relaxing and my body was in appreciation for all the love. Also excellent was Allison - the spa angel - who helped usher me through the different stops on the circuit, and was accommodating when I couldn't spend too much time with the cold areas. She offered such wonderful service helping me with my robe, water, and towel while guiding me onto the next space. Allison even brought me hot chamomile tea to relax with after the circuit was complete. A truly exceptional service - thank you!

Most peaceful and relaxing day I have had in years
Oct 2019 • Friends
My friend and I arrived at tambo del Inka last night and planned to have a relaxing day today before going to Machu Picchu the following day. I just finished a one hour deep tissue massage with Norma and it was one of the best in my life. I am no stranger to massages, I get them all the time for various back problems, but this one was magical. Taking a stop at the spa while here is a must do!

Perfect massage and ambience!
Aug 2019 • Solo
I visited a spa during a stay at Tambo Del Inka and am so, so happy that I did. Carmen was extremely helpful in making the booking and I was warmly greeted by her and Jocelyn upon arriving for my treatment. After signing the waivers, I was offered the option to wait in the very comfortable lounge or enjoy the hot tubs.

Norma was my therapist and I wish I could take her home with me!!! If you are like me and always leave full body massages wishing they had spent more time on your back and shoulders- go for the sacrum craneal massage. Norma has magical hands and really worked to get the knots out in my upper back and shoulders. She also was wonderful about confirming my comfort with pressure, scents, lighting, temperatures, etc. Thank you, Norma!!

After my treatment I was offered a beverage and taken to the relaxation room with heated lounge chairs. The room overlooked the river and was incredibly peaceful.

I would not miss a visit to Kallpa Spa during a trip to Urubamba. Carmen, Lucila, David, Norma and Jocelyn will take the best care of you!!

Relaxing stay with big and comfortable room
Aug 2019 • Couples
We stayed here for 3 nights. The location of the hotel is great. Next to the Urabamba river and on a 6 acre private land. They grow their own spices and vegetables which they use in their restaurant.

The staff is incredibly friendly! We got the pleasure to enjoy a 90 minutes couples spa treatment (highly recommend). The tables are very comfortable and the therapist well trained. The 90 min treatment consisted of 25 minutes exfoliation, 5 min shower (in the private couples massage room) and 60 min massage. To be honest, one of the better massages I've had to date.

Thanks for the amazing stay: Andrea (concierge), Nelly and Milagros (massage therapist), Gonzalez (doorman).
