An excellent experience. Get a good guide. The hike is pleasant but at some places the path was a bit narrow. Good pair of hiking boots and hiking poles is a must.

I did a 4 day Inca Trail hike for my 10th anniversary. It was a fantastic experience. We hiked all the way to 14k feet through dead woman's pass. It's strenuous but totally doable by a reasonably healthy young person. Half of the porters are...More

My family would like to hike the Inca Trail in 3 days. Friends of ours have done it and would recommend it. However our 2nd night campsite has been changed to Paqaymayu. We are all in good shape. Realistically how long would the 3rd day of take from Paqaymayu to Machu Picchu?

I would like to know more about visiting Huayna Picchu the day after my husbands trek finishes. We have booked accommodation in Aguas Calientes and after mu husband finishes the trek we would like to visit Huayna Picchu. How long would it take to get there. How strenuous it it ? Is it possible to do if your nearly 60 and not extremely fit ( in fact a little overweight) Would it be possible to get back to Cusco in the afternoon or do we need to book another night in Aguas Calientes? Any help would be much appreciated.
