I loved, loved, loved the Inca Trail, while Machu Picchu is amazing the crowds are a big disappointment.

This is an amazing place to visit, worth every step of the journey however you arrive. We added the Huayna Picchu hike and were very glad that we did for the incredible views. Interesting to learn of how the Incas lives at this high altitude.

Last year entrance was 60$. Can't say about guide, as it depends on the package you take. I have seen 2-3 days tours that start from 300$ but include transportation etc.
