How did they build it?

The Incas were incredible engineers to be able to build this with simple tools. Part of the Machu Picchu site and if you walk round you can't miss it.

Whilst walking around the site, you will come across this. Check out the size of these rocks, it is a wonder how they may have constructed this place.

While we were touring Machu Picchu in a morning rain, the intricacy of the construction and the size of the stones involved were astounding.

Had goosebumps the entire time at this sacred place. You MUST get a tour guide to explain all on the Machu Picchu nuances to you or you will miss out on SO MUCH. Say a prayer here or meditate or just sit quietly. You will not be sorry that you did!

No visit is complete without seeing several points of interest. This is one of the highlights because of the quality of the stone cuts and the points of view from this locale. Worth soaking up the atmosphere here.

As you peruse MP, you will come across this very clean and sophisticated architecture of the incas- the three windows! Get a fab pic and keep moving as the crowds push through.

If you have one day in Machu Picchu and can not get into Huayna Picchu - climb this in the afternoon. It is a three (3) hour round trip and a long walk - not really a hike. It is super fun and beautiful on a half clear day.
