I loved traveling to Machu Picchu and the town of Aquas Calientes by the Machu Picchu Railway. It was slow, rickety, and crowded, but I loved it. It just seemed to be in keeping with one of the most memorable experiences of my life. There is very little room for luggage and baggage needs to be restricted to over nighters... More

The trip was both very interesting and relaxing. Great service and the views were amazing both directions as we had a close up view of the terrain, river, and vegetation.

This was definitely a fantastic way to get to Machu Picchu with our two children. The train ride had local Peruvian dancers, a fantastic lunch, and there was a glass roof so you could see the majestic surroundings! I would definitely recommend this for a wonderful experience!

We wanted to visit Machu Picchu on a time saving manner. So we thought to take the train Cusco - Aguas Calientes. We booked a bus+train journey with PERURAIL, (because at this time of the year there us no direct train). It cost us 170USD p.pers for a return ticket Cusco-Aguas Calientes. Thats a lot!!! The 2h bus trip was... More

Tre train station from Ollantaytambo is very organized and only passengers with tkts can get in. Nice and comfortable seats with breathtaking views of the river and mountains. The snacks were great too. I'd recommend getting the caramelized almond tea.

It's a beautiful ride on the train to Aguas Calientes. The gateway to Machu Piccu. There are incredible views. They also serve you a drink and a snack. On the way back there is a fashion show with high end sweaters you can purchase.
