Pretty with flowers and a statue to St Martin who liberated Argentina and Peru from the Spanish. Too much chaotic traffic around. Not a place for tranquility.

Came towards the end of the day. Many different groups with speakers talking about politics and what is going on in Peru. The square is open, quite clean, as are the surrounding blocks.

If you are around Plaza San Martin and have a sweet tooth, stop by Pastelería San Martin under the arches at 991 Nicolas de Pierola who have the best tasting and fresh turrón de doña pepa in town.

A beautiful square where at the center there is a big statue of Jose de San Martin the independence hero of Peru. Also at this square is located the famous and historic Hotel Bolivar.
