Set in a delightful house in Barranco, the Pedro de Osma Museum houses a great collection of Colonial era art as well as pre-Inca and Inca art and artefacts. The tour started out being interesting, but we got slightly bored after a bit in the Pre-Colubian art room

We originally had planned to see the MATE, but it was not open to the public so we went next door and found it interesting and the grounds are beautiful.

In the main house the collection of paintings was too gloomy for my liking. I loved the gardens. Out the back the silver collection was exquisit.

Really beautiful arts, but they should sometimes add some more information about the paintings etc. :) it's recommendable to get a tour guide if you want more information. Nice building, interesting architecture!

Visited the Pedro de Osma museum in Barranco and found it to be most enjoyable. Set in a beautiful restored home, the collection shows off some really exquisite pieces of the Cusco style Spanish Colonial painting. It also houses other very interesting pieces well worth the visit, and the neighborhood is charming

Though Lima is not the first destination art lovers dream about, if they do go there they should really visit this museum, mainly for the collections of paintings. Though located in a somewhat remote corner of greater Lima (Barranco area), it can easily and safely be reached by taxi as it is on one of the main roads in Barranco.... More

I thought this Museum was just O.K, nothing special, just looks like an Old House with Old Paintings on the Wall.

Our tour was about an hour and a half, full of Inca and Spanish colonial History and culture. It was a good way for us to understand some the ancient Inca lore and the underlying resentment for Spain. Learned about the Peruvian Trinity, Condor, Puma, Snake, and Pacchi Mama. Fabulous setting on great grounds, don't miss the silver exhibit.

There was practically nobody in this museum when I visited, which is a shame as it has some gorgeous religious art and an interesting collection of silverware. The building itself is also stunning, worth visiting on its own really. The leaflet I was given was supplemented with an audio/written guide which the lady at the ticket office helped me download...
