Great place for couples- can’t really go wrong with the many restaurants here. Very walkable part of Lima with great weather! Glad we stayed in this part of town- short Uber to downtown. The walk to Barranco made for a great day trip.

Arrived in Miraflores at the moment the State of Emergency was declared due to Corona. As a result most of the time I was locked inside a small hostel one block away from Larcomar (main avenue) and unable to explore a lot of the area. What struck me most was there is plenty of space. Unlike other urban areas in Peru there are parks and tree lined boulevards. The setting on top of the cliffs bordering the ocean is very pleasant as well. The wealthy part of Peru has created a comfortable enclave here amidst a vast conglommerate of neighborhoods where mainly poor people live. Comfort also means there are modern supermarkets and attractive restaurants though the latter were mostly closed because of Corona. Most of the 100,000 plus inhabitants of Miraflores are wealthy people. Their servants live in other parts of the city of Lima (population 11 million). Service providers in Miraflores are generally very nice people. Many of the wealthy citizens are more indifferent towards tourists and travellers. A small number of them seemed to blame us for bringing corona to Peru, even though most of the travellers spent months in Latin America prior to the lockdown. Some locals took pictures of us and posted them online. Neighbors complained after observing more than three people on the rooftop of the hostel or on a balcony. However, most people behaved normal and not hostile towards us.

One of the best location for partying. Many high end bars and dance clubs. Beautiful city and people are very friendly. We stayed 2 nights in Miraflores during our Machu Picchu hiking trip. It's very safe to roam around during night as well.

Absolutely loved walking around and site seeing in Miraflores. Fantastic boardwalk along the top of the cliffs looking out over the ocean. Super safe, friendly people, and surprisingly not to crowded. There are plenty of shopping and food options, however it appeared that parking was difficult. We Uber’ed everyone while in Lima.

"Miraflores", a district of Lima, is a must go at any visit to the Peruvian capital city. It is cosmopolitan, chic, welcoming and quite safe for all visitors. Whatever you name, you'll find there - beaches, parks, cafés, restaurants, theaters, shopping malls ... and the absolutely awesome inca ruins of the "Huaca Pucllana"! Along its famous "Malecón" ("Miraflores Boardwalk"), green parks and breathtaking views from the cliffs leaning over the Pacific Ocean. Come by sunset, bring your camera and get ready for unforgettable memories. Enjoy!
