We had a great time on the Salkantay trip. Inka Exp. was easy in contact and friendly. Kevin was a great guide! Communication with Edgar was good. They made a mistake with our luggage which wasn't nice at all! Don't book in advance! It's much more expensive. Try for a last minute, especially if you go in low season.

Hiked the 4 day, 3 night trek. Went on late October. Very good experience. Pack very light. I found I did not need extra camp shoes, light fleece jacket, rain pants, or iodine pills. Cool morning, fairly warm afternoons with rain showers. A light weight poncho helps Sleeping bags provided by trek company are pretty heavy, given the distance and... More

There are a few reasons I am thankful I chose ITEP to book our 2 Day-1Night Inca Trail Trek. First of all, Edgar, our contact for booking, was quick to respond via email to my many, many questions. He was wonderful to work with. I was a little wary of using Western Union, but it lowest fee and everything worked... More

My boyfriend and I recently returned from the 4day/3 night trek to Machu Picchu. Everything about Alpaca Expeditions was top-notch - from the communications from the office, to the care and knowledge of the trek guides, from the constant enthusiasm of the porters to the lavish meals and thoughtful details while on the trek - Alpaca knows what they are... Climbing the Inka Trail into Machu Picchu is extremely difficult, but words cannot describe the feeling when Machu Picchu finally comes into view. After four days of climbing seven or more hours up stairs, sleeping in cold tents, and suffering altitude sickness, seeing Machu Picchu was so enlightening and amazing. Hikers have such a sense of pride and accomplishment for... More
