We enjoyed the cultural exhibits which were arranged chronologically. The building originated as a hospital and we wished there was more info on that. Lovely courtyard.

Good museum, and sort of well organized. Part of the museum has translated cards for English and Kichwa speakers, but only about 1/3 or 1/2 of it (there was a big gap of time in the middle).

This is a nice museum which tells the story of the city of Quito. They had a group of students, I think, after I went thru the entrance who told me a little about the museum and the various exhibits. Some but not all of...More

This old hospital has been converted into a history museum extending centuries; however, very, very little of it was accompanied by any translation of any other language, English included. It was a pity as it could be such a wonderful learning experience.

We spent an afternoon here and had a great time. The museum is basically a summary of the history of the people of Quito, all the way back to the first settlers. They have made an effort to make the different displays engaging, particularly through...More

Interested in Quito history? Do not miss this. Well designed reuse of an old building. Limited English, but the displays speak for themselves. Minimum of one hour. Not too much religion. Lots about Quito development.

Historical, including indigenous perspectives. Excellent preservation of old architecture with modern. Current exhibits change regularly. Take in the roof top, good view of the city. Nice place to sit and relax.

This is possibly our favorite museum in Quito. It traces the history of Quito (and Ecuador) from indigenous times with emphasis on after the Spanish. Very well curated. Filled with beauty, information, interesting exhibits and just plain good story telling. My wife must have said...More

A museum full of objects and paintings which if visited properly can take quite some time, most interesting, with all types of artefacts and a beautiful inner courtyard with gardens

Good examples of Pre- Colombian artefacts dating back 3000 years BC. to the Incas period. My audiophile did not work but they were labelled so I managed. Well laid out and bright and cheerful. The house is also interesting in design. Recommend it.
