The fascinating and somewhat macabre tale of San Francisco is worth learning as is seeing this museum, including the gold altar. Try to go down in the crypt and be sure to have a guide.

As you face the church with your back to the square, the Museum and Convent is on your right, a separate entrance from the church. It is worth seeing. You can access the balcony of the church from inside the Convent as well.

Lovely place to stroll around. Not much to see for art but you get access to the second floor of the church that is amazing. Price was $2.50. well worth it.

A great place to kill an hour learning about Quito's past. Only 2 dollars to view and well worth the money. Many points of interest through out the building.

Nice collection of religious artifacts and paintings at the Museum. The convent itself is still in use by 30-something San Franciscans.

Another "must see" location that we visited on our city tour of Quito. We were fortunate enough to see a monk walk by which made the visit seem even more authentic!
