I had a fun afternoon exploring this Basilica. For $2 you can climb to the up to the bell towers. (don't pay to enter the church as the entrance to the bell tower roof gives you a nice view of the inside of the church...More

This church has a vibe that feels like Jesus is there. It has wonderful stained glass windows and beautiful art but that comes second to the feeling of holiness and welcome. We lit a candle for our families here and felt very comfortable.

Stunningly no place from inside to out. Massive. Structure designed by French architects and dedicated to Ecuador's devotion to the Sacret Heart of Jesus. Largest church in the country and perhaps best neo-gothic structure in the Americas. Small admission fee but free if it's during...More

Part of the experience is that climbing some of the steps is very scary. You get great views of the Basilica and the city. $2 to climb tower and $2 more to enter the main section.

My wife and I liked the Cathedral's atmosphere and architecture with the long distance row of pews. I particularly liked climbing all the way to the top of the tower which took some navigation trial and error and a bit of Spanish for directions, then...More

The Basilica del Voto Nacional, located in old town Quito is well worth the visit. I couldn’t decide which part was more impressive: the imposing exterior of the church, the rich and grand interior of the main building, the smaller and more modest but no...More
