I stayed at a boutique hotel about 5 steps away from the plaza, so this was where we sat to chill and watch people go by. It's amazing in its size and history, and the view at sunset is just breathtaking. One thing I was...More

Secret Garden Hostel's tour ends here. It's a nice square, nothing grand, however. Good for a look but not a linger like some others found in the district.

This square needs work. It is grungy and seedy. There are beggars and hawkers and is a generally unpleasant place.

Everything and everybody seems to meet here! Street sellers, people eating lunch on the steps, the Quito bicycle race started here. Also has a tourist info.

We were here on a Sunday around 10ish and there was a native musical group with dancers. It was a fun experience to happen upon.

We spent an enjoyable few hours here one afternoon - sitting, eating at the Eponymous Cafe by the convent (good Ecuadorian food), and shopping at Tianguez (fair trade and nice quality). There are nice views from the Plaza.

The views from the plaza were great for picture taking. The people watching was fantastic. Lots of people - locals and tourists alike. There was nearby shopping all along the plaza.
