The park is just down the street from the mercado artesenal. The park also has a little art market and along one street vendors bring their painting to sell. Also a good place to get street food for $1. Salchipapas and some corn/potato/pork concoction. The food was good but like all portions I experienced in Ecuador, it was a lot.... More

Large green space with lots of people, vendors with artwork and food. Easy access to public transport and a nice way to get from Mariscal to Old Town if you're walking.

A lovely park with many fine old trees but also a lively crafts market on the outskirts of the Mariscal. Well worth a pause from city life to enjoy the trees and to stroll and to take in the shopping from native vendors. Nice.

I slipped by here today, a lot of the park is closed due to a pretty impressive reconstruction effort, There is still some craft booths on the north side and the playground on the south side is open. Overall, the park has some beautiful old Cedar trees in it and on a beautiful day, would be a great place to... More

A beautiful park used by local artists to show their paintings and sculptures. The park is also part of the setting for Sundays ciclopaseo of bike riders and walkers.

Nice walk. We did not spend a lot of time but it was a convenient way to get from the downtown area to the La Mariscal - Plaza Foch area.

Just loved this place. Kids, parents, old men, young people, buskers and huskers and candle-stick makers. Paths and fountains and no plastic slides. A rock band across the street and a life and death volleyball game. Maybe better then "excellent".

This park is very central, close to transit, and good for a fast, cheap bit of local food as well as local crafts--music, clothes, trinkets, art

A good place for stretching the legs after dinner in the hotel. The 'Habitat III' symposium was going on during my time there and you could see people from all over the world; many in their local/native dress. On the weekend there were many locals, shopping at the small tent/stores, eating the grilled corn and other local delicacies, and also... More

A nice place to sit and relax, watch a local game or have an ice cream. People watching or maybe a stroll.
