We enjoyed 2 wonderful days in the Eco Lodge and the reserve and relished every minute. A fabulous experience only 2 hours away from the buzzing megacity of Quito. A large variety of birds from tiny colibris to big aras, the profound knowledge of our...More

This a solid conservation project that is preserving thousands of acres of cloud forest, opportunities to see Andean spectacled bears, birds and enjoy comfortable rooms at the lodge.

It was a wonderful nature experience and we arrived just in time for the Spectacled Bears. For those who have a few spare days in Quito but would prefer to be in the jungle rather than the city, Maquipucana is perfect. It's only around two...More

This may be one of the oldest cloud-forest reserves in the area but it's not only the infrastructure that shows definite signs of age, also their administration processes seem to start falling apart. There are many shortcomings in maintenance to the buildings and infrastructure. The...More

Beautiful stay , service was amazing , food was excellent, absolutely everything was perfect! Getting there was a bit tricky as you are on very thin roads that overlook a beautiful valley. The whole experience was worth it. I would go back again and again.

The hikes around are breathtaking as a suggestion consider hiring horses to cover more ground. The fauna and bird life particularly the humming birds are really special and everywhere.
