We enjoyed visiting this cathedral mainly because we had a terrific guide, Paul. We shared a lot of information back and forth so our visit was delightful. This is another church where no photos are allowed but we didn't mind because admission was quite reasonable...More

The murals, historic vestments, and ornate sculptures of the Catedral Metropolitana are amazing. Quito is truly unique in its density of amazing churches. The murals and carvings in this cathedral are really special. There are no photos inside, but it's worth the visit!

The Cathedral of Quito is a striking white-painted monumental church with a single high bell tower offset to the right of the main entrance. Its location is amazing fronting onto Plaza Grande and is a must visit.

The fact that this church has been standing for 450 years is amazing. The outside is modest, but the sanctuary is beautiful. The floors are hardwood and a bit squeaky. The inside structure is beautifully preserved.

Great place to walk around and take picture. It's safer to walk in the morning and local restaurant are miss. Not to many places to eat.

loved the local slant on the gargoyles (turtles, iguanas etc) on the outside of the cathedral and offers a great view of the city from the tower. The final climb is up a stairway on the outside of the cathedral with a clear view through...More
