This is a beautiful church with lots of history and lots of gold leaf. We were there during day of the dead holiday and a basement crypt was open for visiting burial vaults of the departed faithful.

My wife and I truly enjoyed the atmosphere of this Cathedral and we took advantage of the English speaking tour guide who was most informative about the construction, history and how the amount of gold used.

It costs only 2 dollars and a guide person is included for this price. The guide shows knowledge about history and other stuff

Yes, they have specific schedules for masses and of course every sunday the church is closed for visits and it is only open for locals to attend a mass.
