We did this tour between a Galapagos trip and a stay in the jungle at Napo Wildlife Center. Pablo, our guide, was a great source of information not only about Ecuadorian cuisine, but Ecuadorian history, politics and society as well. We started the tour at Santa Clara market and were impressed with the unending variety of fruits, vegetables, flowers, prepared... More

I booked this tour for a group of nine before our Galapagos Islands trip. Pablo was an outstanding guide and we appreciated all of the information he shared with us. The tour itself was so much fun! At the market we bought a selection of fruits to have for breakfast the following day, purchased chocolate paste and wooden utensils, and... More

I booked the "Sweet and Culinary Experience" Day trip in Quito as the finale of my holiday in Ecuador. The group consisted of 5 including myself, plus our guide Santiago. We first visited a local covered market, where our guide told us about the local fruit and veg as well as some of the local customs. After the market, we... More

We signed up thinking that this was primarily a cooking tour. This is what the description leads you to believe. The cooking parts take place at two stops on the tour. The first was the bakery where the cooking consists of about five minutes of folding the corners of the quesedillas. The second cooking experience is at the private house... More

Greetings Basically our tour works around cooking and enjoying the local culture, participation is part of it. This program is composed by a visit to a local food market where a myriad of products, locals, Ecuadorian food mix in a wonderful collage of colors and flavors. Here you see all the ingredients to what will follow. The visit to the... More

This tour didn't just check off the main sites in Quito. It did something a little different. It took me to a local market and explained about the history of Ecuador and the importance of markets in building the society. We looked at the different varieties of fruits and vegetables grown in Ecuador and what locals would use them for.... More

I received the booking confirmation, location and time from Urban Adventures. I met the guide at the exact time and place as listed. I was the only one booked for the tours but they were not canceled and I received a private tour of Old Quito and the Market. I was fortunate to have a private tour but expect even... More

This is an excellent tour for all newcomers to Ecuador. You'll no doubt do a city tour of the Old Town of some sort (which is of course recommended), but this is also a must to really get into the local culture and learn more about the extremely varied gastronomy of the country. Our culinary tour started at Santa Clara... More

My husband and I booked the 4 hour cultural tour in old town Quito the first day we arrived. It was a really nice introduction and our guide, Pablo, was great. He took us to a few site seeing places, explained the history in depth, and then took us to a chocolate place and ice cream place. We had a... More

We went on the culinary food tour and cooking class tour. The guide was great and very informative. Many interesting facts about Quito and Ecuador along the way. He was very knowledgable. The cooking class was fun and then you get to taste everything. The family that opened their house to us for the class were very nice and welcoming!... More
