Fabulous collection and an amazing position. Really enjoyed this but it would be so much better with information offered in other languages given Valparaiso is now such a tourist destination. Would still recommend it as an activity followed by lunch nearby

Do yourselves a favour, mates: drop by this magnificent house. There you'll learn a lot about its lonely and eccentric owner, and will relish the fine quality of the different works of art, furniture and facilities he had in his mansion. To enter this wealth of culture, you just have to pay CLP2,000 (US$3.4) if you're are a Chilean, or... More

This palace was founded on the fortunes of "White Gold" aka the mineral Saltpetre during the 1800's. The architecture of the mansion and the collection of paintings within are well worth the visit. There is plenty to see inside and the coffee shop on the verandas will refresh you if you tire.

This very respectable collection (mostly private from the last owner of the mansion) is well worth a visit. The building is wonderful and the art very good. The building has wonderful views and it is well located for rambling and dawdling. And one of the many public lifts (funiculars) is located right next to it to add to the fun.

The setting and the mansion itself are spectacular -- the views of Valparaiso from the promenade in front of the house are stunning. The art collection is fair. We didn't see any works from Chilean artists on the first floor of the museum -- the most interesting art is on the second floor, which houses pieces that relate to Valparaiso.

Located on Cerro Alegre, this old mansion overlooks the city and the harbor. The views are spectacular. The house is beautifully restored and gorgeous. The art is displayed on the walls of the house so as you tour the house, you see the art and the beautiful building. Although I am no expert, the collection is quite nice. This is... More

I accidentally ran into this place while climbing up the stairs near my hotel (Da Vinci) one evening. The view from here is awesome. Went back next day and enjoyed visit to the museum as well. A local staff gave us a free guided tour. Cost is only $4 per person.

The art collection is good, but no more than you would expect from a collection away from the major capital galleries. The gallery rambles through an architecturally outstanding large 1916 house, well worth the trip just to walk through the house. The building has been lovingly restored and every turn brings something new and different. I do wish they'd straighten... More

The Palacio Baburuzzi is worth the climb up Cerro Alegre (since the Ascensor El Peral (1902) is not working!) Cerro Alegre is the most picturesque neighborhood in Valapariso and the museum is just as worthy of the visit. This museum is also known as the Museo de Bellas Artes (Fine Arts Museum). The collection is limited, but there are a... More

The facade of this palace is beautiful anyways, but its inside is even more gorgeous!! I became delighted immediately with the paintings and sculptures made by Neo-classical and Modernist artists, all of them give the impression you are teleported to Italy, more exactly to the Renaissance era... <3 Not for nothing the Baburizza family were the original owners of this...
