Volcanos all around a large lake! Breathe taking views from all sides. It was a little cold for much activity on the lake but hiking and sight seeing around the area was wonderful.

It was a spectacular drive along the lake to Petrohue falls in Vicente Perez Rosales park with magnificent views of the volanoes, somewhat spolit by the3 number of people taking pictures of themselves without a thought of others

Several picturesque towns fringe this lake, such as Puerto Varas, Frutillar. Two large and still active volcanos also fringe it. Many locals buying summer homes here and businessmen from nearby Puerto Montt live in Puerto Varas or close by.

Puerto Varas (one of the best cities to stay in Chile Lake District) borders the Llanquihue Lake. Wonderful views and lots of bird around. Very nice spot!

When you are lucky on a sunny day, it's great to walk along the shore and enjoy the view on the volcanoes.

It doesn't matter which town you go to along the Llanquihue Lake, you'll love every one of them. The spectacular views of Three surrounding volcanoes is something you don't normally see. And having direct access to one of them is also worth the trip. There...More

Yes, there are. You would arrive at Puerto Montt Airport and get transportation to Puerto Varas. You can check with your hotel if they arrange for airport pickups. We rented a car and were really happy to have it. More... More
