This area towards the south of Puerto Montt has a pretty serious stay of small stalls selling all sorts of artesenia. There is a lot of sameness, as happens in markets like this, but also a lot of gems among them. Continue past the market area to the fish market. My fave!

Angelmo Harbor is a klassik. Many tales fromnancient times to folky food. Avoid the days of heavy cruise people shopping, know your food...you could get food poisoning, people rippin you off and check the sea lions fight. Try the cocinerias egg breakfast. And get there at 8am if you wanna get fresh organic veggies and fish on saturdays.

We saw the place passing by on a boat tour. We wen't there by car and parking is ridiculous there. But if you go up the hill and turn first left, it is free. The place is nice, small fish market and some nice ceviches "to go". We saw some pretty impressive sealions there, looks like the feed them once... More

Eat lunch at a small place that served a free pisco sour as you sat down. Machas a la parmessana are big and fresh, yummy. Inside on the main level they sell everything from fresh food, clothes, souvenirs and sopapillas & empanadas. Everything is very cheap but good.

The restaurants are very expensive especially "local 27". Outrageous prices and the ladies charge according to your accent. Gringo tax at its worst!!!

You can see the place, and the handicraft market. However do not eat here. You can get cheaper and better food at the downtown.

This street is very colourful and full of special artisanal work. Not a lot of food on offer but definitely a good place for some souvenirs shopping

If you're in Puerto Montt, this is a nice place for a stroll by the water and souvenir shopping. It's not the best area and don't recommend it at night. Pan handling is aggressive.

Worth the visit. Both sides of the long road towards the port are lined with artisan shops selling beautiful Chilean crafts. At the end you encounter an antique port and fish market. Two levels of restaurants surround the market serving only the freshest of seafood. A wonderful way to spend an afternoon in Puerto Montt. A nice walk, buy some... More

Seems symptomatic of Chile, they have talented craft persons but a lot of the artesanal output is very similar and, while clever, uninspiring!
