Just walking down the street and looking at the items exposed outside will make you stop and want to peek in. Once inside, the staff will welcome you and if you so require, help you with your treasure hunt. The store is packed with authentic and fairly priced items, for which there is always a nice story. You can learn a bit about chinese culture and the tea ceremony and a very nice warmful feeling will engulf you. This is definitely a place to visit while venturing through the streets of Chinatown in Singapore.

I can only echo all the other very positive reviews. I looked up this shop online prior to my visit and it was a really great experience, such nice antiques and most importantly my favourites - old prints, maps and postcards, both originals but also cheaper reproductions. I was so happy to find what I was looking for, an amazing original miniature map of Asia, and am grateful to Mrs Elaine for a great professional advice and her delightful manner. I also purchased one new item, a very nice and practical pouch bag with a design by Beth Cheong, after Elaine explained that this was the owner's daughter's own art. Thank you again and I will have great memories, hope you visit you again in my lifetime:)

This is the perfect shop to buy gifts for family and friends, as it has everything! The lady in the shop was so warm and welcoming without being in any way pushy. We loved walking through this aladdin's cave, seeing all the different objects - and I'm someone who doesn't normally enjoy shopping! We would definitely recommend this gem of a shop as must see.

This is one of the rarest shops in Singapore. You will find something for your home, office, family, friends and for yourself. Elaine is amazing. Her knowledge of the history and the creations of her wares is worth the trip. I would highly recommend the shop for the carefully curated items and the hospitality of Elaine. We will be back.

This is the best place to shop for rare, authentic, well made and reasonably priced treasures to remind you of your trip to Singapore. The owner and staff are terrific and very knowledgeable about their products. The Cinnabar Vase, we eventually chose, was carefully wrapped for transport back home.

One of the best reasons to travel is to learn about other cultures. I love bringing an authentic piece of local art home as a permanent reminder of a lovely trip. During my recent trip to Singapore, I entered to a delightful souvenir shop in the heart of Chinatown just very close to Sri Mariamman Temple. Owned by the incredibly hospitable Mrs. Ong, this shop turned out to be one of the highlights of my visit. The shop itself is a hidden wonderland of unique souvenirs that would be hard to find elsewhere in China Town. After finding out that my younger son and Ms. Ong were both born in the year of the horse, we had a very warm, enjoyable and informative chat on Chinese culture. Ms. Ong was so kind to both of my sons. She has also given great hacker food tips to taste Laksa soup and Hainanese Chicken and Rice. Ms Ong takes the time to explain the significance and the story behind each item, making every purchase feel personal and meaningful. A must-visit!

Happened upon this delightful store, attracted by some beautiful little blue tea bowls on the display outside. As we went in to pay we realised that this little shop was full of treasures! Talk to Elaine Ong, because she will tell you about some of the interesting coins, Cambodian silver, and opium pipes, as well as some of the blue ceramics no longer made, as the particular shade of blue is no longer produced. Beautiful items, not plastic tat, and interesting antique items to browse through. Well worth a visit.

East Inspirations is a MUST-SEE for anyone that loves treasure hunting, antiques or vintage pieces. The store is extraordinary in so many ways from palm-sized porcelain artifacts to collectible Asian wardrobe and full-size wall tapestry art. I found several chinoiserie collectibles and thrilled to be able to bring them home to Colorado. Elaine is knowledgeable in the history of the pieces and made my purchase so much more interesting and educational! Great and friendly staff. Art for art’s sake this place is a haven for anyone that is looking for something unique or may not know what they are looking for, but will leave intrigued and fascinated with something for themselves or a gift.
