Long Bar is now closed as part of our restoration programme and is slated for a grand reopening in the middle of 2018, along with the rest of the hotel.

Home of the Singapore Sling, this two-story bar located on the second floor of Raffles Singapore is the place where travellers undergo one of the true rites of passage of travel. While there, sip on the world famous pink cocktail created in 1915 by bar captain Ngiam Tong Boon, and toss peanut shells onto the floor, the only place in Singapore where "littering" is permitted. The menu also offers a melange of cocktails and non-alcoholic concoctions, together with traditional pub favourites. The earthy interiors are inspired by Malayan plantation life in the 1920s. Oriental carpets are overlain on tiled floors and the furniture is traditional stained cane and rattan. A charming timber spiral staircase connects the two levels of the Long Bar with the seating above interspersed with teak lounge chairs.

We came here specifically for the Singapore sling- as I imagine most other people do. For a fancy hotel and a legendary bar the service was very average. We had to flag the server down multiple times to order food, get our bill, ask for napkins, etc. We did not feel like the service went above and beyond in the... More

Heard about their legendary drink, the Singapore Sling since.. forever. Kept postponing to go, until last Valentine's day weekend. We were lucky to arrived after lunch and before the crowd hit. Took about 15 minutes wait and we were shown the bar seats (my preference). The host did ask if we'd preferred a table. Don't be alarm by the peanut... More

I always bring my friends or family from overseas to Long Bar, as it's such a cool, iconic part of Singapore. This time, I visited after nearly 2 years. The Good: 1. I love the free flow of roasted peanuts that come with the drinks. 2. Mostly, I LOVE the COOL factor of this place -- all the discarded peanut... More

If you're in Singapore, you have to visit here. Get the Singapore Sling & pretend Hemingway is about to walk through the door.

Another of the Hemingway Haunts, a magic place where the Singapore Sling was invented. Bar is no longer in original location down stirs but all moved up stairs. But a SS is still an SS. Come for one stay for six. If you ain't been here you ain't been to Singa

No self respecting traveller can go to Singapore and not have a Singapore Sling in the long bar at Raffles. The place was very busy, very loud and expensive but hey it had to be done. The drink is an acquired taste but one that i'm pleased to say I acquired rather easily. It was not to my wife's taste... More

The Long Bar at Raffles is an interesting piece of Singapore History... Or at least it would be if it was in its original place and served a decent Singapore Sling. The famous cocktail here is pre-made (stored in juice cartons) instead of made fresh to order. When you're spending nearly $30 on a drink you expect a bit more...... More

Just had to visit this iconic place as we were lucky enough to have the time whilst in Singapore. Fantastic atmosphere. Could have sat there all day and watched the people coming and going. You must go.
