Joo chiat area is a food haven....Where the locals go....and bit out from the tourist areas though Main hotels in the area are a grand mercury roxy and holiday inn express katong ....

This place is different than others in Singapore. Very colourfull of peranakan building. Katong is not favorite amoung tourist caused is downtown in Eastcoast Singapore. But is worth to visited.

Great place to walk around and enjoy the old with the new. Many local restaurants up and down Joo Chiat road. And day time has a VERY different atmosphere than a night.

This enclave is filled with colourful heritage shophouses and terrace houses with ornate facades. This Peranakan and Eurasian area has an amazing number of restaurants and traditional coffee-shops offering a range of cuisines.

Can't miss the multi-coloured double-storey terrace houses with traditional Peranakan style at Koon Seng Road.I'm lucky to live this beautiful and charming area.Every time I pass by those shophouses.I feel like touching local history along with the sweetest fragrance of plumeria in the town.
