We went to see a movie and thoroughly enjoyed this updated movie theater (I remember it from many, many years ago when it was the Lido). Modern convenience. Snacks were not as we'd hoped (based on USA tastes) but adequate. Line moved very slowly to purchase tickets - so make sure you're early. Bring a jacket or a sweater, it was COLD in there!!

seats are like leather car seats, super comfy.
the building also houses isetan departmental store, various restaurants, and a new food republic at the basement level which offers a wide range of food from singapore and all over the world.

The cinematic experience is amazing! They have comfy seats, a huge screen and a decent crowd. Immediately outside is a McDonald’s outlet, which can be pretty convenient if you’re hungry after a late night movie. The ambiance is great, but it can get quite cold inside the theatre.

We had to visit the IMAX theater as there are none in Finland. The movie we went to see was the Justice League and the video and audio were well worth trying. The AC was running at really high power as we wished that we had brought sweater and long pants to enjoy the temp.

Singapore has plenty of movie theatres and also a few IMAX theatres. Shaw theatres Lido IMAX is the one closest to downtown, at Orchard Rd (opposite Orchard Metro station). According to technical staff they have dual digital projectors (not the still very rare dual laser digital projector). The experience was terrific. The audio system very impressive. Good staff. Comfortable chairs. Also, moviegoers adhered to the Cinema Code of Conduct... One warning is in place: the theatre is _very_ chilly - bring a sweater.

Shaw cineplex is located at shaw tower building..where isetan department store is. It's at the junction of Scott road and orchard road.
After a days of walking around shopping treat yourself to a movie.
The cineplex is 10 screens including a imax screen. So if you haven't seen a 3D imax movie before, this is the opportunity.

Most comfy movie house for me in Singapore. Queue line moves fast, online reservation works great and very nice location. Maybe not the great IMAX for me, smaller screen, but the sound system is superb!

I know you can visit the movies at home, but do yourself a favour,and try the Shaw movies centre on Orchard Rd. We have had several visits there now and it is a pleasure to sit in a very clean and well established movie theatre..... People have respect!

Good:
-The widest screen in horizontal length, but small theatre.
-Immersive experience.
-Kids will enjoy it more than the adults.
Bad:
-Pricey, it will set you back by TWO 2D MOVIE TICKETS( $20).
-Only 1 theatre available, thus limited screenings per day.

How good is the picture quality? Let me tell you now it is better than good, excellent in fact. Went to see Dark Knight Rises in IMAX and man, the image was super crisp and with the 15m wide slightly curved screen absolutely perfect.
We sat in row H, right in the middle, seats 18 & 19. Great seats, one or two rows closer to the screen would have been optimum. No closer though otherwise you would have lost your peripheral.
The seats were a little squeezey and there was a sharpish edge on the arm rest that was a little annoying. The woman next to me couldn't stop texting, so I told her so, she ended up leaving which made my night.
At S$20 it's nearly twice the price of a normal ticket at S$11. However it's worth it.
Book online to ensure you get a good seat!

In Lido 1, i know there are big pillars at the sides, Does this impact view? If so, which seat and tow numbers to avoid?
