Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I liked this mall, it had an emphasis on tech and on youth. It was the sort of place where younger people felt free to sit around and no one looked like they wanted them to move on.
It had some stores I didn’t see elsewhere including some fun personalising stuff. There was also a climbing wall. It’s not huge and has a logical flow which not all of them have ( I’m looking at you Ion).
I loved the stationery store and there are some fun and unique fashion stores also, well worth a visit.

I was able to walk to Funan from my hotel a major consideration for me. I was looking for 3 items and was successful. I got a new smart watch Samsung 5 for a reasonable price and will get tax back st airport however whilst I found most sales persons good and very helpful I did find one who couldn't be bothered so you need to shop around.

No longer the digital mall it once was.
Refurb is a lovely mall with a good food court. A few sports stores to keep my wife interested. Electronics stores are really just a few camera stores ( which are very good if that’s what you are after). Other electronics are a bit gimmicky.
They have a great indoor climbing centre though

Funan is a mall in Singapore. After we checked into the hotel, we had some time before dinner, so we went here for a stroll. What made me more curious about this place is the layout inside. There is a grid-like space in the middle. The interior is irregular, and the middle is okay. Rock climbing is special. There are not many shops inside, but there is a food area with reasonably priced prices.

A more interesting mall with a lot of shops you won’t see elsewhere.
Geared mainly to the young, quite a lot going on all of the time. Climbing wall holding training and competitions while the food courts and basement restaurants hum.
Cool shops like Japanese stationers and a Brompton bike hub which actually has stock.
Interesting, far from the maddening crowd on Orchard

Wonderfully transformed from the strictly IT mall to a smart-nation concept with something for everyone. Youngsters would love the cycling track and rock wall, hipsters the coffee joints and glamping shops and concept stalls .Foodies will wecome the wide variety from Kopitiam and foodcourts to Ajumma and Paradise. Tiong Bahru Bakery is good enough for me!
IT shops still there, mainly 4th and 5th floors. A cinema and performance areas too.
Brightly lit, jazzy, a little disorienting but eclectic and dynamic.
The toilets are wonderful, never crowded, clean and quiet.

Good place to be for one stop mall of electronic products in Singapore. Place has been revamped since the last time I visited before 2019. Feels like the best place for budding Silicon Valley types who work in startups and do mysterious things with the cloud.

The Funan Mall used to be one of my favorite electronics shopping center in Singapore. Well on my most recent visit I see it has been torn down to be replaced with what I don't know. Oh the memories of buying many electronics at Funan is all I have now.

Funan DigitalLife Mall is the main destination for Singaporeans to buy Computers, Digital Cameras and Electronic Gadgets, but to be honest, it is not a foreigner friendly place. Just like any roadside shop in China, customers have to bargain a lot in the small shops in Funan DigitalLife Mall. Moreover, you cannot expect courtesy or after sales service in those small shops. However, the biggest problem is fake products. Many small shops sell fake products in cheaper price to unsuspecting Foreigners. To sell fake products, most of the time they give discount to foreigners when paid by cash. I myself found fake SanDisk SD Memory cards in a shop named "25 CAM" in Funan digital mall. So, I would suggest foreigners to be careful or buy from big shops like Harvey Norman, Courts or Challenger if they decide to visit Funan DigitalLife Mall.

As an Englishmen living in Europe I am used to a certain level of service and generally trust that the price I am quoted in a shop is roughly give or take 10-50 euros market value. This is not Europe!!!!
If you go to Funan IT Mall which is where people generally recommend you go then please please please do your research and know the price and product that you are buying, understand what you should be getting and make sure everything is there including warranty card and any extra bits. This is a professional sales environment and much like business to business transactions in Europe you are on your own if you are overcharged / sold an unfamiliar brand / sold a bundle product as separate items or told something is different to what it actually is. (well you are not strictly on your own but try finding a post from someone who has been overcharged and received a refund)
There are lots of posts on trip advisor listing the best shops to go to and I am not going to even attempt to list the sales techniques you may experience but if you follow the below tips you should stand a good chance of snatching a bargain and not being done like a Kipper.
1. Know the internet price and model of what you are buying
2. Understand if the product comes as a bundle (camera +lenses) and what you should be getting.
3. Only buy what you went in to buy (and did your research on) it is common to be sold an item cheap or at cost and then thinking you have mastered the art of the deal be presented with an added extra which you then proceed to knock the salesman down by 10-20% on only to find you have paid 400% more than it is in other shops.
4. Do what the best buyers do and get three quotes, sure it takes time and you have to have the confidence to walk away but remember salesman have rhino skin and it is likely you will never see this person again anyway. they are not your friend!
5. Don't go shopping after a few drinks (those brunches are good but stick to reflexology as after dinner entertainment)
6. Try and take emotion out of the purchase, sales is all about emotion and the salesman wants to try and make a personal connection with you, be friendly but stick to the matter at hand.
If all else fails go to Harvey Norman you may pay more but you should have a more European experience.

If you still haven't bought the External Hard Disk, I would say don't buy from Funan Digital Life Mall. Buy from CyberActive in IMM or Harvey Norman (online or any branch). As of today, I found the best price in CyberActive ($140). However, I should remind you that Segate has a known problem for windows 8. The hard disk turns on and off on its own. So, better go for WD My book (Price is around $160). 4TB WD My Book costs around $269 in CyberActive.
