Simala Shrine is in the south of Cebu but with its imposing look, one would think that it's in some parts of Europe. It's magnificent not only in its structure but also in stories of miracles from pilgrims. There are still a lot of on-going...More

Visited in May 2017 on a Wednesday afternoon. No crowds, so we were able to buy candles with ease and spend the right amount of time in prayer without interruption or distraction. Everyone is thinking about something meaningful and seeking God's favor. I love this....More

To get to Simala, one has to drive through very tight roads and once near the shrine, brave the crowds of pilgrims who visit the shrine. When I visited, it was extremely hot and there were thousands of people visiting the shrine. Yet, I felt...More

My mom is 70y/o and managed to climb up to the shrine and back without a problem. Of course we took our time though. We didn't rush her..Took a few pics. The ramp is nice and easy for seniors in my own honest opinion.
