The palace itself is not very impressive except for the golden pavillon. It is quite run down and the exibition is a bit random in its choice of the things on display. However, we were lucky enough to get an amazing guide, an elderly woman,...More

This palace isn't that special, but worth a visit. It displays a lot of pictures of the sultan and his family giving you a feeling of how important this family is for the Jogjas.

It has interesting history of the Sultans, but nothing much to see.. Values great, but worth only for a short stay (one hr at most).

Cheap entry here (c.15k IDR), although you definitely need a tour guide who will take you round and explain all the different artefacts you see - you would be lost without them! They are free but it is custom to give them a small top...More

The air is very hot, crowded people, trap parking price. I parked in front of keraton mosque and charge 20,000 rupiahs for 1.5 hours. Such parking area seems controlled by local gangster guys.
