We would highly recommend the Jakarta Hidden Tour to anyone visiting Jakarta. You get to talk to the locals, meet their children and visit parts of Jakarta you would otherwise probably not see. Half of the entrance fee is donated to the people you visit, so you know you are really helping them by doing the tour. The people are... More

There's plenty of good reasons to join this tour as documented in all the reviews so I just want to add some advice. You may find it hard to absorb all the information and all that you're seeing, even if you think you're taking it in. But that's OK. I realised towards the end that I was a little shell-shocked... My biggest reservation was that this is a little bit expensive at the cost per person in Jakarta. But the reviews were great and we wanted a true look at some of the inaccessible and hidden parts of Jakarta. It's incredible what you see in terms of those less fortunate. The things that I saw left me a little upset... More

Thank you to roni and Angela and sadly I can't remember the other man's name or the other young lady. This tour is very eye opening don't go to jakarta without seeing the other side of the coin, many people live in unbelievable poverty despite the government giving a ridiculously low figure. This tour will take you to the underbelly... More

This was a really interesting tour that took us to places we would never have seen as tourists in Jakarta. You get to meet some lovely people who are very welcoming, especially considering you are strangers walking through their homes. It was an experience to see how people really live below the poverty line, and we felt that we learnt... More

This is a hugely different tour from the average. Ronny takes you on a unique journey through the socio-economic classes and living conditions of Jakarta, providing a lot of context and info about the struggles those at the bottom face on a daily basis. It is at times confronting, but well worth it to gain an insight into this city's... More

Jakarta is a huge sprawling city with millions of people. By the governments own admission at least 700,000 are living on less then $1US a day. These people often live in illegal housing settlements scattered around the city. This tour, takes you into those areas and introduces you to the families who live there. More then just a tour though,... More

I stumbled over the internet page of Ronnie and his team as I was looking for a guided tour in Jakarta. It is far more than I had ever expected... I can just say that this is real life. I had to keep my tears back several times - it was absolutely amazing to meet these wonderful people who are... More

We decided to go on Jakarta Hidden Tours in order to get a different experience than normal sightseeing, and it definitely was worth it. Ronny and his team were extremely knowledgable, committed and showed us the reality of the city away from tourist attractions. Getting to see the most humble areas of the city and meeting the people living there... More

This is in my opinion one of the best things one can do in Jakarta. It is maybe not for everybody, because you go to dirty, messy, full of rats places, but that´s how some people live in Jakarta, so it is the raw reality. In this tour you get to know the situation of millions of persons living in... More
