For People Who love history, look at the beautiful buildings since VOC era. The architecture was unique. You can borrow bicycle, take awesome photograph and eat at the cafe. Enjoy with your family.

Nothing special to see except Portuguese architecture. Traffic is chaotic like in all city. Doesn't merit great effort to visit.

I visited old town to join walking tour, is definitely must see for everyone who like jakarta 's. Sesaat seperti terlempar ke masa lalu setelah masuk ke area ini, lepas dari kerumunan mall dimana-mana

I visited old Jakarta, "Kota Tua" after a long time not having seen the area. I was very pleasantly surprised by the numerous new and refreshing ideas to the area. It creates a very atractive loeation in old colonial Jakarta, Batavia with places to hang out like trendy cafes and restaurants,

Jakarta's old town breaths history, and is definitely a must-see for anyone who seeks to better understand Jakarta's past. The Dutch colonial buildings are great to see, both at day and night time, and the old town also features some good places to eat, though prices tend to be a bit higher than elsewhere (which is especially true for the... I like this place because it is a good alternative of place to hang or see rather than malls (which seems to be the only options in jakarta these days), this place is easy to access as you can take transjakarta bus and pretty sure the area is famous amongst tourists. Lots of museums, landmarks, old architecture, places of interest,... More

Even as an Indonesian, I really enjoyed touring the old town, coincidentally when taking foreigner guests sight-seeing. We rode the Ontel and did the full tour. Definitely recommended. Just beware of the too expensive food at Batavia Kafe. Go there to enjoy the ambience, but with managed expectation.
