When coming to Qixia, try to remember that it's a temple on a mountain. If you have any more expectations than this, then you will surely be disappointed. The people there are friendly and if you go on weekdays there typically aren't many people there.

It is worth making the effort to get to the mountain area. There are plenty of good walks up and around the mountain. The views of the Yangtze, from the summit are excellent, and the Buddha caves are also worth the visit on their own....More
