We came here only expecting to see the confucian temple, and were surprised to find a bustling street with restaurants and shops, and boat tours along the river! Would definitely recommend going at night, as we did, because the line for the temple was not long at all, and the lights on the river were beautiful.

I had been visiting Hangzhou 2 weeks before I went to Nanjing. When I heard about Fuzi Miao, I thought that it was going to be just like Hefang street in Hangzhou. In the end, Fuzi Miao is bigger, less crowded, cleaner, and overall better than Hefang street. I loved the food and the aesthetic of the place. If you... More

It is interesting to see the story of Confucious told via beautifully carved panels. The entrance fee is cheap (the ticket office is opposite the entrance). The approach is through a pedestrian area filled with touristy shops, but views from the river bridge are pleasing. Allow about half an hour to see the temple.

I went one evening to see what I had heard about. The crowd was horrible. It was a which was not a wise decision. There are so many shops and restaurants. But the crowd made the experience an unpleasant one. Go during the day or a week day evening. NOT ON THE WEEKEND.

Well worth visiting especially when you include other sites like the Examination Centre The whole tourist area is by the river with lots of restaurants and a great atmosphere

Came here for the evening and had a nice stroll across streets lined with old and historic houses of the ministers that used to live in them. There are also nice eating places mostly specializing in the salty duck. For touristy activities, one can take a boat ride along the river which will teleport you (somewhat) to what it would... Fuzi Miao is one of those "must visit" places in Nanjing. The long and rich history of the Confucius Temple is the central point of this area. It is a favorite tourist spot for Chinese visitors and foreigners alike and offers a lot of interesting food, trinket shops, and beautiful sights of old China. In the past few years ,Fuzi... More

I visited after sunset, as it was the only time I could do that. At night the place looks really magical, with all the lanterns and the lights. I visited the temple and did the boat ride, both of which were really interesting. It is very touristic as a place, but it looks like there is very little international tourism... More

I wish I had more time in this area. Really enjoyable to walk around and look at traditional buildings and temple. Many great photos stops. There are many places to eat. There are many stands a long the way.
