Fantastic place to go for appreciating the culture, shopping and nightlife. The place looks absolutely stunning once it gets dark, it's beautifully lit and - if you're there just for one short second and then go back to your life in The Western Hemisphere -...More

You can pay 10 yuan or more to strike a bell several times or you can light some incense which you also need to buy, then you will get blessed (by Confucius?). When did it become a religious shrine and a tool to make money?

A great place to spend a day just walking and feeling serene. Everything is well kept and there are a lot of locals dancing, doing yoga or just relaxing. Worth a visit.

Too crowded though. But plenty of food options and souvenirs to purchase. Nan sold was very delicious. Which seem to have derived from Indian nan bread.

But crowded. Like most you'll see in China. It's still similar to most of the ancient towns there. The surrounding and residential area, though, is quiet and nice. Worth a walk along the canals.

The place is well restored and commercialised. Located right at the heart of the city central. The 秦淮river cut across the place. Beautiful for photography.
