Lovely little fishing village with many shops and seafood. Take a boat ride for lovely scenery or take a walk up the mountain to see the White Chinese Dolhins swim.

This is a fishing village in the Lantau Island. Here, visitors can visit the culture of the village and some of its history. 20 minutes cruise tour in small boats are also available from the village and if luck permits, one gets to see the Mandarin dolphins. You can get a variety of grill seafood, charcoal cooked egglets, and fishballs... More

Go for a quick(ish) visit to see the houses on sticks. Enjoy an expensive coffee by the water. Combine with other attractions such as the Big Buddha

Took my son along when he was visiting. Went on the dolphin boat ride, and this time, had no luck. For me, really nothing else to see in this village. Except perhaps the old police station, but the walk is far too long for my taste in Hong Kong weather.

Consider it as a good afternoon trip to visit this venue. You can catch it as a day tour from some hotels' tour counter. I took mine from tour counter at the foot of Big Buddha. The bus took us though a winding road up and down the hill and finally Tai-O. Upon arrival we were told to follow the... More

If You want to see aplace where time stopped 100 years ago, visit village on stiltts. Take a boat trip for 25 HKD, it is worth it, stroll thoroug the village. It is as real as it can get. A lot of elderly folks who still live their fishermen life, play games, enjoy simple things. So good to be away... More

This is a Beautiful fishing village, and I can not recommend this place enough. We took a boat out which from what I can remember did not cost a lot. It took you around all the little houses, before taking you out towards the sea. The guide did explain to us before we go onto the boat that it would... More

It is a fishing village. We took the cable car to the Big Buddle, the bus 11 to the village. Spent one hour walk in the village and tried some local snacks. The sticky rice ball with red bean was yummy, never had such best one before. If you have enough time, can take a walk on the other side... More

Visited Tai O on a Saturday in January. Took Bus No 11 from Tung Chung on Lantau Island to this village. There were a couple of small museums showing some old items used there decades ago; very informative. The most impressive was the stilted houses. The must visit place was the Three Lanterns Cafe, that was on one of the... More

Tai Wo is a beautiful addition to Ngong Ping. If you have time you MUST visit this place. Take bus no 21 from Ngong Ping village to reach this place. Alternatively you can taxi which charges around HKD 75. In Tai wo you can take a boat ride @ HKD 25 per person which will take you inside the village... More

We initially went to lantau by ngong ping 360 to see the monastery and Big Buddha. Only in the spot we learned you can take about 20min bus ride by a winding road down to Tai O village and it was well worth it. You can see the floating village, take a short boat trip and try some of the... More
