Go here only if the country life excites you..!!! Take a boat ride to this village and see how the locals catch their fish and sell them...a few good places for coffee...can be avoided, if short of time..

I have been here on many occasions and it is a great spot for tourists, beware that there is a long wait for a bus and taxis are rare so plan your day around the bus timetable.

I did a tour for the day so was not given a choice. We went to Tai O first and follow it up with the Big Buddha, so the village came later.

Hi All, I am planning to go Tai O on 13th or 14th dec. I am staying in City View. Can anyone advise how can we travel from City View to Tai O? There are total of 5 adults and 2 kids (2&6). What are there to see and do and eat in Tai O? Thanks.

Hi, As you are staying at City View Hotel Yau Ma Tai. There are few options to reach Tai O. 1> Least Expensive - Try to get a free shuttle bus to Kowloon Airport Express MTR station (many hotels have such facility) from any... More

1) Check out google map. They provide transportation info. Quite good. 2) Take a walk/bus/taxi/MTR to ferry pier on Hong Kong side. take ferry to island.
