Mongkok markets

Mongkok is the district and MTR station where the Ladies market is held nightly. Worth a visit for a wander and the odd bargain.

A major part of Hong Kong and very popular with tourists. There are many shops/markets where bargains are to be had.

One of the best sights in Kowloon...full of infringement...whatever copies crosses your mind...they have it. If you're interested..bargain just once especially pirated stuff. Some of the paddlers are Triad members...they controlled some of the streets where the nite bars and pubs. You could find few cheapest budget hotels along the market with tiny rooms bout 15-20 sq.mt and when open... More

We had to go to mongkok to get a mobile phone. Great shops there for that . The markets were the best ,crowded but just like other ones. The main shops were busy also. We walked from hung hom ,although one stop on the metro. We enjoyed the walk and it took about one hour leisurely.

Great place to shop, but if you are there before about 11am, don't be surprised to find half the shops closed. It doesn't really kick into gear until after 12 but goes on until late, so you can spare the team a bit of a sleep in, I'm sure.

An interesting experience -- we went to see the Ladies Market, which was so much fun. But, Mong Kok is a bit of a dirty, jam-packed mass of humanity, and not so much a tourist attraction. If you aren't going to the Ladies Market, I don't know what else you could do there. The people are not as friendly and... More

Took the MRT to get to Mongkok station and use an octopus card to get around the MRT. Plenty of shops, restaurants and things to do while you are here. Highly suggest to go at night to see the night markets and much cooler than a day time visit. A must see and to experience HK with a local vibe.

This is where the famous Ladies market is, if being jostled and shouted at whilst you barter for fake goods is your thing then this is is for you! Use the excellent metro system and get off at Mongkok station, it;s a short walk to the market.

Well who doesn't like shopping? Mongkok is a place to go shopping while in shanghai. One thing tho BARGAIN ! BARGAIN! don't pay an item before you walk around through many sellers there, they will be selling mostly same items at different price..

Staying in Mong Kok

Neighbourhood Profile
Mong Kok
It’s one of the highest density districts in the world, so come to Mong Kok prepared for action. Home to every market, restaurant and shopping arcade imaginable, Mong Kok is the one-stop shop to satisfy all your shopping needs. Dust off your finest negotiation skills and dive into the bartering frenzy. Similar retailers will conveniently congregate in the same area forming easy to remember references such as “flower street” and “sneakers street.” Here you will also find various local delicacies being served at street snack shops or hole-in-the-wall restaurants. One reliable rule of thumb: the smaller the place, the better the food.
