If you like visiting an outlying island, this is almost the best choice. It is accesible by ferries from the pier in Central waterfront, and also by small boats from Aberdeen. Some people go to the island to walk up the hill from one pier to another to return to Hong Kong. Some take a stroll near the pier to... More

The visit starts with a 30 minute ferry ride to get you in the relaxed mood for the visit. Once on the island there are lots of walks that can be undertaken that are not too hard. Then you can stop at one of the many cafes or seafood restaurants and enjoy a well timed meal.

A walk from Yung Shu Wan to Sok Kwu Wan takes about 45 minutes. Or vice versa. That will get your appetite up for some famous Lamma seafood. Enjoy.

Indeed the island is very quiet compared to the busy streets of Hong Kong but those streets are more clean and well kept than the island. The hike is okay although almost every scenic spot and beach is ruined by the presence or sound of either the electrical plant or the cement plant. View points have had no maintenance for... More

I was quite excited about my trip to Lamma Island but I have to say it didn't really live up to the tripadvisor hype. Perhaps on a less gloomy day it might have been a little more magical but I definitely didn't get the 'laidback hippy' vibe that's often referenced. Also we'd been to Lantau Island a few days previous... More

The hike around the island has some climbs that will get your heart rate going, and some views that will quicken your pulse. Bring some water and snacks. There are a few restrooms around the island but the are not the cleanest. As far as the restaurants are concerned, from what the locals tell me, the fish is shipped in... More

One of the few places in Hong Kong that has no high-rises. Some interesting shops, boutiques, restaurants and pubs; narrow, winding roads and pathways, many hills and nature trails.

Take an hour ferry tour from Central ferry pier will bring u to a small outlying island. You may take a seafood lunch or dinner though it is less delicious than that of Sai Kung or Leiyuemun.

Great place to get away from the busy Hong Kong. Doesn't take that long on the ferry and it's a beautiful island. I recommend good walking shoes and a swimming gear in the summer
